The above link is to a kick-ass jumpstarter app for rails web applications.  In startup terms, its gets me 30% to where I need to go, and solves a lot of the problems I had already solved on my own...

I wanted Jquery + Jquery UI, figuring out a stable integration with prototype was a pain in the tuckus, this has it all worked out.

I wanted Blueprint CSS, this uses it.

I wanted simple authentication, with a password reset protocol... this has it also.

So its a triple win!! More soon, gotta play with this and see what comes out as a result.

Just an announcement... This blog had the motivation of a springboard for my ideas and whatnot.  The motivation is changing, it is now a place where I can document and keep up on my adventure in building a brand new startup, "Writeblue.com".

Check out the business card:

First few comments were clear, nice, elegant and cool. (thanks to my friends!)

Issues.  It is tough to read the caption "Write out of the Blue".
Need to increase the font size in the next iteration (after this 200 run out).

Thought about how to best describe it... "One-Man Startup" does sounds pretty awesome instead of "CEO/Founder". The right term needs to be kind of encompassing and I need to think this over.  There isn't enough room for "CEO/Founder/Administrative Director/Lead Developer/Advertising & Sales Director/Marketing Director"... though that would be funny.

The idea of getting my degree while building this site (writeblue.com) is seeming impossible and too much work.  So I have decided to take a pretty big gamble and just work on the site.

It was pretty ambitious to think I could ever get myself motivated enough to do the traditional education thing, considering everything else in life that I typically don't do traditionally

Here's hoping, anyone interested in the future of my one-man startup is welcome to checkout writeblue.com to be added to the mailing list of interested first-in users.

Thanks!

I am going to hereby dedicate myself to Computer Science.

Whatever it takes from now until I get my degree (I currently have no degree... so it will be a long time until I will be actively blogging again). Therefore, writeblue.blogspot.com will probably not be updated often. The most I will be able to blog will be every 9-16 weeks between classes. Who knows.

I hope anyone, if anyone does, who reads my content realizes the kind of commitment I need to make. Thanks to everyone who has supported me, and might support me in the future.

If you, or anyone you know, has any resources for me in the northern Virginia area, I would be happy to know.

Also, for those interested.
My plan:
- NVCC for an AS in Comp Sci. transfer (find out tomorrow, 26 Jan, where I stand)
- George Mason for a BS in Comp Sci.
- MS - not sure... but right now, I think I might want to go for it.
- PhD - not sure... but right now, it sounds too cool not to aim that far ahead.

Well, today it happened.

President Obama is in the house, the White House.

Now its just a matter of time before people start criticism, and hilarious comparisons to the first "things" of this new President. I just wait for the hilarity to begin.

Let's see if people allow him to be a success. I can see conservatives foaming at the mouth already.
